Environmental Benefit

The process of growing plants removes carbon from the air. Some of that carbon goes back into the air when it is burned in a vegetable oil powered vehicle. This cycle reduces the amount of airborne carbon. Petroleum based fuel takes 100% of the carbon out of the ground where it is sequestered. When it is burned in a diesel or gasoline powered vehicle, a great deal of that carbon is released into the air. This increases the amount of airborne carbon.

Clean vegetable oil as fuel guarantees a neutral CO2 cycle; a growing oil-plant needs as much CO2 for oil production as the burning of the oil will release.

Oil producing plants are renewable and can be completely independent from fossil fuel reserves. Pure plant oil is not a threat to our health, there’s no benzol nor any other hazardous fumes. It is not a threat to our oceans and ground water and doesn’t contribute to acid rain. Much unlike petro diesel and other fossil fuels, it is not toxic nor is it explosive.

When used in place of petroleum diesel, Biodiesel and recycled vegetable oil offer a wide range of environmental, health, economic and fuel security benefits. Vegetable oil burned as fuel does not emit sulfur dioxide (SO2), a main compound in diesel responsible for acid rain. In addition to this 100% reduction in SO2, recycled vegetable oil fuel produces 78% less carbon dioxide (CO2), the dominant greenhouse gas responsible for global warming, 48% less carbon monoxide, a20poisonous gas, 48% less asthma-causing particulate matter, and 80% less cancer-causing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH’s) than petroleum diesel.
